About Sodiq

A Builder Who
Thinks Through Systems.

Sodiq Olamilekan Isiaq is a multidisciplinary builder operating at the intersection of product, operations, project execution, ecosystem development, and human-centered systems thinking. His journey started long before startups — from supporting his mother’s retail business at a young age, he developed an early understanding of customer behavior, operations, and business resilience.

Over six years, that foundation evolved into a career spanning operations management, product strategy, program management, startup execution, executive support, and digital transformation across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Today, Sodiq works with startups, founders, innovation ecosystems, institutions, and growing organizations to transform ideas into structured execution — helping teams move from vision to scalable systems, operational clarity, and measurable impact.

Working with Sodiq at Jupita was one of the clearest demonstrations I have seen of what it means to bring both research discipline and execution instinct to a product team. He did not just run discovery sessions, he translated what he found into product decisions that the engineering and design teams could actually act on. Across three very different products, in three very different markets, that consistency never wavered. He always knew what the next most important thing was, and he made sure the team delivered it.

Most product managers I have worked with bring requirements. Sodiq brought context. There is a real difference. When he handed off a user story, it was broken down to be understood for product design and features implementation for engineering and came with the reasoning behind it. That made our engineering conversations faster and our build decisions sharper. He also had a rare quality for someone in a non-technical role: he understood where the technical complexity was, and he never pushed for shortcuts that would cost us later. That kind of respect for the craft builds trust quickly. Thank You Sodiq.

Sodiq joined BridgePay at a moment when we needed someone who could solve two problems at once, build the talent pipeline and help shape the product. Most people can do one or the other. He did both. The Provarex programme he led produced professionals who are still active in the technology ecosystem today, which tells you something about the quality of the foundation he built. On the product side, his instinct for the user, especially for how our customers in underserved markets actually behave, not how we assumed they would, directly influenced features that made BridgePay more than just another fintech app. I would work with him again without hesitation.

Event logistics is one of those things that looks simple from the outside until something goes wrong, and then everyone knows exactly who failed. To Go Mobility has never been that person for us. Sodiq and his team have consistently delivered ride coordination for our events in a way that made our guests feel taken care of from the moment they left their front doors. What I respect most is that he operates like a partner, not a vendor. When we have had last-minute changes and in events, there are always last-minute changes, To Go adapted without drama. That reliability is rare, and it is the reason we keep coming back.

When Sodiq approached me in Abuja about bringing Founders Friday to Minna, I was interested but cautious. Expansion into a new city requires someone on the ground who can build institutional trust, manage complexity, and keep the programme running without constant oversight from the centre. Sodiq did all of that and more. He did not just execute the plan we agreed on; he built the stakeholder infrastructure that made the plan possible in the first place. The Enabler Network he convened with his team, the partnerships he activated across universities and innovation hubs, the government relationships he navigated, none of that was handed to him. He built it. Minna is now one of the most institutionally grounded chapters we have, and that is a direct reflection of the operational work Sodiq put in.

In six months, Sodiq managed a ₦50 million infrastructure conversion project, co-led a partnership through a sensitive leadership transition, and designed and delivered two talent programmes, simultaneously. That would be impressive for a senior team. He did it as a project associate. What distinguished him was not just the execution; it was the ownership. He treated every workstream as if he had personally committed to its outcome, not just been assigned to it. The co-working hub was delivered on scope and within budget. The Minaret partnership came through the transition intact. And the participants who went through the Career Activation Foundry left with something real. When I think about the professionals I would want leading a complex, multi-stakeholder project, I will call Sodiq.
